This special item is made using the traditional dyeing technique of Amami Oshima called "Doro-zome".
This item employs the doro-dyeing technique used in the production process of Oshima tsumugi. Doro-dyeing by "Bingo Dyeing," which carries on this technique today, produces a deep blackish-brown color by dyeing threads dyed with the extract of teetchwood in a mud field.
This technique gives fabrics a unique luster and texture, and improves the durability of the fabric. Dyed fabrics have a rich texture and a unique look that makes the most of natural materials.
Furthermore, mud dyeing is an environmentally friendly technique and is attracting attention as an ecological choice because it does not use chemicals. By incorporating part of the rich ecosystem of soil minerals and organic matter into the fabric, these products allow the wearer to feel connected to nature.
Each item is carefully finished by hand by craftsmen, and even the same product is one-of-a-kind with a different texture.
Please take a look at the collection and feel the beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.

100% ORGANIC COTTON
This jersey fabric is made of rare organic Egyptian cotton (Giza cotton). 80 count twin yarns are spun into a compact yarn with less fluff, and then gas-baked to give a smooth surface finish. The rich luster characteristic of extra-long staple cotton remains even after repeated washing, and the high gauge (36 gauge) knitting makes the fabric highly durable.
