CUBITTS x marka Lidlington, Dark Turtle
Design
A collaboration model with CUBITTS, an eyewear brand born in London in 2013.
Lidlington” is a mid-century design that pays homage to Japanese style. It combines clean lines and minimal decoration.
This time, we have made a special order for a frame and lens combination that is not part of the regular lineup.
DARK TURTLE” comes with ‘Brown’ lenses, and ‘BLACK’ with ‘Gray’ lenses. The marka logo is also engraved on the frame.

CUBITTS is derived from Lewis Cubitt, an English architect active in the 19th century, and the brand philosophy is that eyewear, like architecture, should last a lifetime.
The symbol used on the caulking parts of the glasses was inspired by the butterfly-shaped parts that hold the materials together, which were also used in his signature architecture, King's Cross Station.
This is the first collaboration with marka in Japan.

ACETATE
All ready-made frames are made of Matsukelli acetate and manufactured in the company's own factory in China. Some frames, such as Bespoke and custom-made frames, are produced in the workshop located in King's Cross.
デザイン
2013年にロンドンで生まれたアイウェアブランド「CUBITTS」とのコラボレーションモデル。
｢Lidlington｣は、日本のスタイルに敬意を表したミッドセンチュリーデザインです。すっきりとしたラインと最小限の装飾を組み合わせました。
今回通常のラインナップには無いフレームとレンズの組み合わせを別注しました。
DARK TURTLEには” Brown”、BLACKには”Gray”のレンズになります。またフレームにはmarkaのロゴも刻印されています。

CUBITTSは19世紀に活躍したイギリス人建築家Lewis Cubittから由来し、建築物と同じようにアイウェアも一生使えるものであるべきという思想をブランド理念にしています。
眼鏡のカシメパーツに採用されているシンボルは、彼の代表建築King's Cross駅にも採用された、資材の間を固定する蝶型の部品から着想を得ています。
今回日本でのコラボレーションはmarkaがはじめてになります。
