13.1oz Kimono Denim
“Kimono Denim” is made using a blend of organic cotton yarn—with organic cotton from Uganda for the warp and recycled silk from kimonos for the weft.
While kimonos—once sold in large quantities—are now available on the secondary market, many are difficult to sell due to their colors, patterns, or condition. We’ve processed these kimonos using a de-fibring machine to restore them to a cotton-like state, then blended them with cotton.
As a result, various shades of silk are visible throughout the fabric, enriching its texture while adding the soft feel of silk. This denim offers the lightness of 3.1 oz. and the pure feel of its natural materials.
