Design

Our MA-1 Type Blouson that since our brand’s establishment has been continually updated from even the smallest detail at our designer’s discretion. Starting with an outer shell made of Nylon 66 fabric specially ordered from and created by our producers in the Hokuriku region, 100% wool ribbing created from scratch through yarn by our knitters in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, and custom-made oxygen tabs, this piece is made with incredible attention to detail so as to keep to its inspiration’s authentic specifications. Even with our choice in selecting Myosen Sewing for its creation, which works out of a Kiryu City - whose name is synonymous with the creation of nylon flight jackets - we focus on curating every step down to choosing even the best place for production. Created with a silhouette that through spacious sleeves and a wider body bears the same dignified and composed feel as the thicker original, but with a light-weight finish due to its PrimaLoft padding.

With excellent cold-weather protection, the masculine MA-1 is a timeless, classic item. Of course being easily pairable with American denim or chinos, it can also be worn alongside clean slacks for an exquisite contrast that adds a stylish flair while also providing an attractive utility through its spacious pockets. If you are looking to get your hands on a classic staple that can be worn for a long time, this is the perfect piece in its genuine style and functionality that will never fall out of place.

100% NYLON

Developed in 1935, the polyamide synthetic fiber - Nylon 66. Imported from its original creator, the American company, DuPont, the fiber is then woven together in a Nylon 66 twill by weavers in Fukui Prefecture using their own original machines. Using the same base materials as vintage flight jackets, it is also woven to the same structure and specifications. Compared against the Japanese-developed and commonly used Nylon 6, the Nylon 66 has a pliable, silky texture that exudes a sense of authenticity unique to itself.

Padding/Primaroft

A soft, pliable, and light down achieved through a dense mixture of both fine and thick fibers. With particular attention given to the fiber structure itself, PrimaLoft has been able to reproduce the feel and characteristics of down feathers by blending polyester fibers of various thicknesses. This time, from the PrimaLoft Series we’ve chosen to use the ‘Silver Insulation’ - an insulation material that has the perfect balance of lightness and full-bodied fleshiness for use in an MA-1.
